Yours Truly, Johnny Dollar
YOURS TRULY, JOHNNY DOLLAR
Who says that insurance investigation and adjusting isn't exciting?
For over twelve years, from 1949 through 1962 (including a one year hiatus in 1954-1955), this radio series recounted the cases "the man with the action-packed expense account, America’s fabulous freelance insurance investigator, Johnny Dollar". Johnny was an accomplished 'padder' of his expense account. The name of the show derives from the fact that he closed each show by totaling his expense account, and signing it "End of report... Yours Truly, Johnny Dollar". For a while in the 1950s, the show was broadcast in 5 15 minute parts, one every week night. This five part episode aired the week of October 3, 1955. Johnny travels to visit a dying inmate in Sing Sing prison.

As an aside, on October 3, 1955, Captain Kangaroo debuted on CBS and The Mickey Mouse Club made its debut on ABC.

Ohio Governor’s Budget Could Force Local Town To Privatize Fire And EMS Services:
Clearly, Republican Governor College has a class, in which Govs. Kasich and Christie sat in the front row, that teaches how to give the illusion of cutting state expenses by passing them off to hard-strapped local municipalities while cutting taxes for the wealthy. Hocus-Pocus 101?

Florida’s self-defense law, known as Stand Your Ground, grants immunity to people who act to protect themselves if they have a reasonable fear they will be killed or seriously injured.
“Stand Your Ground is a law that has really created a Wild West type environment in Florida,” said Brian Tannebaum, a criminal defense lawyer in Florida. “It allows people to kill people outside of their homes, if they are in reasonable fear for their lives. It’s a very low standard.”

George Clooney released after arrest at Sudanese embassy
George Clooney released after arrest at Sudanese embassy
Isn't it enough that George Clooney is suave, smart and rich? Must he also now stand up for important social issues? Does he really care about the Sudanese, or is this just a conspiracy to make all "average", and even "above-average" men feel inferior about their looks, social skills and, now, moral integrity?!?! In truth, congrats, George, for taking an important stand on and important issue, and putting your commitment into action.
